Theatre ‘d Art Presents
Between Time and Timbuktu
By Kurt Vonnegut
From Friday April 2nd, through Sunday April 16th, Theatre ‘d Art bring you this strange but excite play by the late Kurt Vonnegut. Young Stony Stevenson unwittingly wins the Blast-off energy Drink space jingle poetry contest. His prize: a trip aboard the rocket ship Prometheus-5 where he will be launched into space to experience the Chrono- Synclastic Infundibulum. What ensues is a strange journey through time, space and many of Kurt Vonnegut’s early work including Cat’s Cradle, Player Piano, Welcome to the Monkey House, The Sirens of Titan, Happy Birthday Wanda June, and Harrison Bergeron.
Combining stage acting and a huge pile of televisions, Theatre ‘d Art has resurrected this obscure work for the stage. Previously unseen by many as it was originally a PBS television special first broadcast in 1972.
Being familiar with Vonnegut’s work is certainly not a must though, come see this exciting play and experience the barrage of the unexpected right along with our protagonist, Stony Stevenson.
Tickets are as always $10 for general admission, $5 for Students with ID and FREE for UCCS Students. All performances are at the good old Osborne Studio Theater, 3955 Regent Circle, 2nd floor of UCCS University Hall.
