T’dA now accepting submissions for “Theatregasm 4″

Attention “Theatre” folk

Theatre ‘d Art is currently accepting submissions for

“Theatregasm 4″

The deadline for all submissions is Friday, June 4th. Local performing artists are encouraged to send submissions for short, original plays to be performed during Theatregasm, in the Osborne Studio Theater beginning August 13th though the 22nd. Submission guidelines are listed below,  and all submissions can be emailed to info@theatredart.org with the heading: “Theatregasm Submission.”

Theatregasm is in its 4th year and is, as always, a fun and exciting opportunity for people of all varieties to submit a play of their own creation to be performed on stage.  In years past, Theatregasm has showcased a wide variety of short, experimental, comedic, dramatic, strange, absurd, serious, and exciting plays.

To submit a play for Theatregasm an artist must email to Theatre ‘d Art the following proposal: a brief synopsis of the short play explaining it’s plot, intent and purpose, a copy of the script for the play, a list of characters and technical needs for the play and a statement regarding why the play should be included in Theatregasm. Artists proposing plays are expected to supply any props, costumes or special effects for their plays if they are accepted, as Theatre ‘d Art does not provide a budget for the show. Pre-casting the submitted play is not required but is definitely recommended.

Theatre ‘d Art’s mission is to bring bold and exciting shows to the Southern Colorado region and Theatregasm is very much a part of this goal.  We do not discriminate based on sex, age, race, religion, creed or sexual-orientation, and as such we encourage all artists to submit a play.  Submissions will be judged based on the quality of the play, the feasibility of its production and originality.

Remember: send your submissions or inquiries to info@theatredart.org by Friday, June 4th!
